Maintaining Robot

Today I decided to give the robot more screws and fix the motor. For some reasons some screws get loose and I'm tightning them so them won't come loose again. Hopefully it goes well and I can get all the screws I want.

Experimenting with Endo-Factor

5/4/15

Now that my group and I have completely finished building an arm for the hexahedron challenge, we will begin creating a new design for the endo-factor for the arm. Even though this may seem to be an easy task, their is much more to it then one thinks. We have to find a design that will allow us to easily pick up these objects, while also being able to remove them from our bot quickly as well. I believe that the key to this task is simplicity. I believe we need to find an endo-factor that is efficient yet simple. My team and I predict that we will be done with this part of the challenge by the end of the week.

Arm Conclusion

Arm Conclusion

4/24/15

My partners and I decided to focus on finishing and further improving the arm. We built our first model or rough draft at the beginning of the week and later ran various tests with it. When we discovered the issues, such as the speed of the arm, the endo-factors ability to pick up the tetrahedrons, and figuring out how to counter balance the entire square-bot so it wouldn't tip over, we  knew we would have to recreate the arm entirely. We have now finished what we think is our final design today, after various sets of testing we will begin to focus once again on the autonomous portion of the challenge.

Programming arm

Programming the arm

4-20-15

We returned today committed to the idea of building, mounting, and programming the arm. after fixing and making changes in the former arm, we got a binder and began to programming the arm to the remote. After we program the arm we will go back and once again try to program autonomous. we are still having issues with concluding the autonomous route and many people who usually help us are not present today and we do not fully comprehend the instructions with the binder. If we can program the arm and autonomous by the end of the week my group and I are still able to keep on track and begin with the tetrahedron challenge.

Beginning Autonomous

4-6-2015

This week my group and I have begun the autonomous project assigned by Mr.Martin. We began today by reading through the "programming" section within the VEX binder to fully educate ourselves of how to properly program our square-bot. We've previously tried programming in the past and are expecting to run into difficulties again. In the case that this occurs I could ask a classmate to assist us and help us through the process. We are gradually catching up to the other groups and have made significant progress in the past couple weeks. We predict to be caught up by sometime next week.

Programming Continued

4/2/2015

My group and I are still struggling getting the hang of programming our Square-bot. My partner Dylan and I have read through the programming section within the binder but still seem to be confused. Thankfully, another individual from another group was kind enough to help us in order to proceed to successfully connect the brain of the bot to the remote controller. We predict that by next week we will begin the autonomous for our Square-bot.

Beginning Programming

3/30/15

We have returned from what seemed to be an endless Spring Break. Now that Dylan and I are back at work, we have finished our square-bot and now will begin programming it in order to attain our second grade. We are gradually catching up little by little, we'll definitely be in sync by the end of the quarter. Mr.Martin has given the class their third challenge, but in order to participate we need to program first.

First Day of Build

3-18-15

Today we have officially began the Square-bot in class. So far we are working diligently and have gotten a lot done in the past hour. I predict that my group and I will be done with the build some time early next week. The only issues we have run into currently was the lack of materials and pieces needed in order to build the Square-bot but other then that we are working efficiently and quickly as a group, dividing the work evenly in order to finish earlier. We will most likely begin programming during the end of next week.

Further Organization

3/13/2015

My group and I are still in the process of organizing parts and tools in order to begin building our square-bot. Unfortunately, Mr. Martin explained to me that a certain member in our group has not been working diligently and walking around conversing with other students in the class when he should have been helping organize. Due to this, we are still assigned to organize the tools. Hopefully if we stay focused as a group and help one another we can begin building next week.

March 3, 2015

We have finally finished our square bot on solid works and now we are beginning to organize nuts and bolts in order to begin the construction of the actual square bot. We will keep organizing once we come back on monday, hopefully we will work efficiently and diligently in order to begin building as soon as possible.

Day one of organization

3-2-15

My group and I have finally finished the Square-bot creation on Solid-Works. We put all the large pre-assemblies together and for the most part have done every step correctly except for a few minor issues dealing with certain mates or positioning's of parts. After submitting the assembly to our instructor, Mr.Martin we will most likely begin organizing Vex or Tetrix parts in order to gain approval to begin building the actual Square-bot out of Vex parts.

2-27-15

We've finally finished the entire chassis of the Square-bot assembly on Solid Works, We also are almost done with he top part of the Square-bot. All that is left in order o finish the entire assembly is mate the two pieces. at first we had major issues with mating specific pieces or parts but my group and I have finally overcome these conflicts and finally understand how these assemblies work. By next week we are planning on beginning the build of the actual square-bot.

2/23/2015

This week we are planning to finish up our Square-bot construction on Solid Works, now that we have finished creating the re-assembled pieces as a group, all we have left to do is assemble the larger pieces in order to complete the entire assembly. After we finish the Solid Works assembly we will then begin to help organize the Vex robotics parts. Afterwards we will begin building the Square-bots with the Vex parts given to us.

2-20-15
My team and I are almost done with the square-bot on Solid Workse weve completely finshed all our pre-assembled assemblies and fixed all issues with the mates within the pre-assemblies, all we have left to do is mate the main components together. Then we will start to organize the robotic parts in order to begin building. Once we finish this we will start to build the actual square-bot. Hopefully we can get done with this and catch up on our work.

2-17-15

We are one of the last groups who are still finishing up our square-bot build on Solid-Works, we are still trying to solve some final issues we have come into contact with recently in the past. Fortunately Oscar is assisting us in finishing this build, hopefully with his help, we will finish soon.

2-9-15

Last Friday my group and I posted what we had of our square-bot drawing on Solid Works. This week we plan on finishing our square-bot in order to start building as soon as possible. If we do not finish this Solid Works assembly our group will  be given zero's until completed. After we finish the assembly, our goal for the rest of the week is to begin the actual building of the square-bot.

Friday, February 6, 2015

2/6/15

For this week we finished up our square-bot assembly on on Solid Works, next week we plan on beginning on building the robot with the vex parts available in class. We now need to download and post a picture of our Solid-Works assembly onto our blog site. Unfortunatley weve encoutnered several issues when creating the assembly and its not completely finished, we are unsure whether we are going to begin building next week or finish the square-bot assembly. We will see what will happen next week.

Monday, February 2, 2015

2/2/15

We will be finishing our Solid Works assembly of our vex-bot soon this week, other groups who have already finished will be assisting us in order to finish quicker. By the end of this week we are planning on beginning the actual construction of the vex-bot. We have encountered difficulty with downloading the parts onto Solid Works once again. This assembly needs to be done by no later then 2/4/15.

1-30-15

Currently we have resolved our issue of not being able to download the part files from the VEX program in order to create an assembly on Solid Works. My group and I have now been building our vex-bot on Solid Works for the past two days now. We are most definitely  behind schedule, we plan to finish as soon as possible in order to begin the actual construction of of the vex-bot next week.

1/20/15

Today, Tuesday my group and I will begin to construct our VEX robots virtually through Solid Works. In class we began to discuss with Mr.Martin about the process of building a robot and how it not only involves tangibly building but also creating a blue print through Solid Works. I predict that this week we will begin working on Solid Works building our robot and finsih by Friday.

Ketchup week

1/16/15
At the end of this week we took a day with Mr.Martin to educate oursleves about the difference of torque and speed, how to implement either gears, and what tires work best for certain situations. We have also learned the different batteries, how to maintain them and proper management incase of an emergnecy. We are now trying to figure out a solid blue print for building our robot and catching up.

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

This week we are planing on working with VEX . We hope we are able to learn all we can so when we are able to build our robot we will be ready. This seems to be a very important week and we need to pay attention.

Friday, January 9, 2015

Today we have learned what kind of parts we can use and need to know. I have learned how to control blogger and use it to my advantage. Now that I know what parts we are using I can now look up how to put them together and how they work together.
